A Tip on finding A good massage therapist.

I think every giver of massage needs to receive massage on a regular basis.

The difference between giving and receiving a massage is so different.  I have come to be quite skeptical of any massage giver who has not received massage in over 2 months. I wonder at how well they can truly know what their clients are experiencing.

Massage is so “in the moment” so affirming of what is going on with you and life NOW that it is very easy to forget what it feels like… even after years of giving.

So the next time you see your favorite body worker - check to see how long it has been for them and give them heck if it’s been over a month.

If you are finding a new one or searching for a new massage therapist - ask how mush they receive as well as what sort of physical ailments they tend to treat with the massage they receive.

You may get very interesting and telling answers.

I once met a lady massage therapist who had been practicing for 10 years and had not received a massage since school. That’s just not right! I would, for one, never go to her. If she doesn’t know how to take care of herself then there is no faith I have to know she can take care of me.

  1. As a massage practitioner myself I agree with Sierra…

I have probably received 80% of the known modalities that are out there in the world and it has made me a better practitioner learning from others…
